Win11 Clean Install Problems
I purchased a used Optiplex 3060 with a 230gb ssd, 8gb memory, W11pro 24H2. I want to do a clean install. I created a Rufus install usb with downloaded W11 iso, booted to the usb. When I got to deleting and selecting a partition, the message ÂW11 canÂt be installed on disk 0 partition 1. Screen shot.
There is only one ssd. Why is there a disk 0 and a disk1? And message box ÂThe partition is an EFI system partition (ESP). The selected volume is offline. To install to this volume use the Disk management tool to bring the volume onlineÂ. screen shot.
Stopped the install, Opened disk management, only disk 0 listed? Screen shot. Are there hidden partitions that donÂt show in disk management?
Should I delete all the partitions on disk 0 and disk1?
If the all partitions can't be deleted, will I would have to format the ssd to install W11?
Will deleting all the partitions eliminate the ÂcanÂt be installed error? Thanks in advance for your help, Maynard

From the total size (15GB) and the partition names, Disk 1 looks it's your Rufus install USB.Maynard5 said:

It's basically Windows 11 and its new Setup design. "The volume is offline" whaaat? And disk 1 is my installation media? But you still have to choose an appropriate partition which you could. It's partition 3. The previous version of Setup would tell you that Windows cannot be installed on an EFI System Partition and the partition is too small.

Good info
I appreciate getting this information.
Will try again to install W 11 this morning. Thanks, Maynard- - - Updated - - -Yes, the Rufus USB with the Win 11 iso was showing as disk 1 along with disk 0 causing the confusion?
During the install this mornings , disk 1 was not listed?
The W11 install went well.
Thanks to everyone for their help. MaynardMy Computer
